Built in 1896 originally as the Gold Mining Stock Exchange, the building was later sold to the Cripple Creek Elk’s Lodge 316.
On August 22, 1901 a shooting occurred on the ground floor of the building at the Newport Saloon that resulted in the death of Sam Strong a Victor mine owner… Come join us to investigate the many reported paranormal activities from objects moving, to shadows seen in doorways… and much more!

Limited to 20 Participants, and tickets are sold on a “First Come, First Served Basis” and do sell out quickly.
Participants will receive an overview of current techniques and equipment used for paranormal investigations.
You are encouraged to bring your own hand held equipment. Video cameras, digital recorders, still cameras, a flashlight and other ghost hunting equipment are welcome. You should also dress in comfortable and casual street clothing. Open toed shoes not recommended.
All participants proceed at their own risk and must sign a standard waiver releasing the Elks Lodge and M.P.P.I.R. from any liability. Dress should be casual and comfortable street clothing and tennis shoes or sneakers (soft sole shoes). Open toe shoes are strongly discouraged. No pocket knifes or any other weapons are allowed. Use of alcohol or other drugs is strictly prohibited.
